Colony Info

Founded in 1914 near Los Angeles, CA, the New Llano Colony moved to Louisiana in 1917 and the utopian group soon became a valuable part of the community. They continued to grow as the depression hammered the rest of the country, until they over-stepped, made some bad investments, and the court ordered their property be sold (starting 1937) to pay their debts.
